The EcoTips Initiative loves to stay active in the Story County community, whether that includes attending sustainability events hosted by partner organizations, presenting our work at conferences, or volunteering at recurring events. If you know of a sustainability or networking opportunity, please reach out to us!
EcoTips at Sustainapalooza (February 24th, 2025)
Sponsored by the Iowa State Office of Sustainability, this annual event is hosted to promote sustainability across the university in all areas.
We operated a booth displaying a poster and gave out educational materials to promote our initiative. We networked with sustainability stakeholders across the university, gained public recognition across the university, and truly enjoyed engaging with the community.
EcoTips at Celebrate Iowa's Outdoors Day (March 20th, 2025)
Hosted at the Iowa State Capitol, EcoTips was invited to operate an interactive display and connect with Iowa legislators. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to share our mission and engage with local and state policy leaders, including Ross Wilburn, Iowa State Representative.
EcoTips at Ames Water Treatment Plant Open House (April 19th, 2025)
Hosted at the Ames Water Treatment Plant, we were invited to table and showcase our work to the City of Ames community members. This was a wonderful experience: we learned so much from other organizations and had a great time!
EcoTips at Sustainapalooza (March 3rd, 2026)
We loved attending this annual event for the second year. This time was incredibly special for us, as a year ago we had just started reaching out to local organizations, asking for a platform to promote our cause. Being able to reflect on our progress and growth over the year was heartening, and we are truly grateful for all the partnerships we have received with organizations along this journey
