Founded in 2024, EcoTips began as a student-led initiative focused on reducing plastic waste in scientific laboratories. What started as a research-driven project has since evolved into a broader sustainability movement, one that provides practical eco “tips” and resources to empower our entire community.
Community members, environmental organizations, scientists, and students all interact with the concept of sustainability in different ways, but actions toward ameliorating the overall issue need a bridge across people and disciplines.
This is what The EcoTips Initiative, our youth-led 501(c)(3) organization, hopes to contribute. By improving connection across Iowa's sustainability organizations and stakeholders from a youth perspective, we hope to build a greener tomorrow.
